Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates Mozart’s birthday with the concert of Austrian music genius

On January 27th, on birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Ekhtibar Akhmedov on Arnold Kats State Concert Hall performs a program dedicated to the 260th anniversary of the composer. Soloists are musicians of the orchestra, Honored Artist of Russia Vasily Sokolov (horn) and the winner of All-Russian and International competitions Ivan Shikhanov (flute).

"Mozart is probably the most performed composers in the world, undisputed genius, whose music has long ago entered the life of anyone, even the one far from music, - says Nikolay Sizikov, director of Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra, - The program, dedicated to the composer’s anniversary includes both his most popular compositions such as Symphony № 40 and “Eine kleine Nachtmusik“ and less famous but no less beautiful instrumental concertos for flute and horn and orchestra It is particularly important and valuable that the artists of the orchestra solo in its performances".

To be reminded that in this season Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra celebrates its 60th anniversary. On February 28th the collective leaves for a European tour, during which will be performing in Spain, Germany, Austria. The tour will be ended on March 11th in St. Petersburg. There Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra will have its first ever performance in Concert Hall of Mariinsky Theatre. The concert will be held in the framework of Third Trans-Siberian Art Festival and will be dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the orchestra. Conductor is Gintaras Rinkevicius, soloist is Mone Hattori (violin). The young student of Zakhar Bron is familiar to Novosibirsk audience with her performance in Second Trans-Siberian Art Festival in April 2015.

The highlight of the season for Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra will be a big anniversary concert "60 Years of Triumph", which will be held on March 29th in Arnold Kats State Concert Hall. The concert will be conducted by Gintaras Rinkevicius, pianist Dmitry Masleev, winner of the XV International Competition named after Tchaikovsky (2015) will perform as a soloist.

In April Novosibirsk Philharmonic Orchestra will once again become the basic collective of Vadim Repin’s Trans-Siberian Art Festival. The project will be held in Novosibirsk for the third time already.
